This museum houses and exhibits living ware unearthed around 1960 from the Tarutoko settlement and its surrounding area sunken during construction of the dam at Lake Hijiri.
A “chumon-zukuri” style private house relocated from submerged land stands nearby.
Along with dismantling and repair work of the annexed old Japanese-style house, the museum is closed from September 1, 2013 to April 25, 2017 when work is scheduled for completion.
The museum is closed to the public until further notice. We thank you for your understanding and apologize for the inconvenience.
